MEETING THE CHALLENGES OF COP21

GEOSAT Commitment Charter

The engagement charter of Land surveryors for sustainable development (September 17, 2008 between the Ordre des Géomètres-Experts and the State, was a strong signal that sustainable development was taken into account in the activities of land surveying.
GEOSAT teams are trained to respect the environment at all times of their activities. They respect precise intervention protocols related to waste recycling and noise minimization measures.

RECYCLING CYCLE

Recycling of waste related to the field activity

GEOSAT is committed to recycling all the construction waste generated by its operation, including aerosol cans used for marking on the ground, via appropriate dies.

We use water-based markers adapted to the safety of our employees and the environment :

  • Biodegradable and non-permanent aerosol sprays with short marking duration (15 days to 6 months)

  • Reduction of VOCs

  • No irritants or toxic agents.

At the end of the project, the used aerosol cans are collected and stored in a dedicated container before being sent to a treatment center (specialized waste disposal center).

Ink cartridges
Although the dematerialization of shipments and transmissions is privileged, our activity generates impressions. Therefore, a large number of ink cartridges are used. Special attention is paid to the recycling of this waste. Ink cartridges contain heavy metals as well as toxic organic compounds. After use, these are t stored in a closed container, adapted to the quantity and clearly identified to avoid mixing with other waste. They are then brought to a treatment center for recycling.

Sorting other waste
GEOSAT has decided to generalize the selective sorting procedures and the installation of dedicated waste bins, thus optimizing waste tracking and saving money.

Data transmission

Once the mission is completed, the documents are made available on the server dedicated to the operation. Paper versions will only be printed and sent on request. The transmission by dematerialized route will therefore be privileged to avoid the misuse of paper.
